We asked Garry to do the Motivation Workshop as one of the preparations for the upcoming event which will be held in May. This workshop was simply awesome. Simple but it was quite meaningful. Although these few pictures did not tell how awesome the workshop was, but yeah the content was really motivating. Thanks Garry !!

27.6 KM Journey

Hi everyone, today is 16th April, 2013. I had nothing to do today. Suddenly, something popped in my mind. I wanted to do mountain biking again today. So I sent a message to Hussin Ali and he agreed to join me. I just brought simple tools; hand-pump and a plier. We started our journey from St Annes Road. In addition, we used and set Strava Cycling apps on our iPhone in order to detect how far our ride would be taking place.

We entered Meanwood Valley Trail Park. We managed to take a few pictures of cascades that could be found in the park itself. It was really wonderful. After that, I asked whether he wanted to further the ride or not. He said, 'yes' and apaaaaa lagi....we went to the other side of the park and tried to find a way to a tunnel system in a jungle that I had been before. Yeah, we succeed in finding it. Now, we had covered around 4 KM journey. After the tunnel, Hussin and I decided to go further. We crossed the stream steadily without thinking of getting wet. After we successfully managed crossing the stream, we entered another forest area which we hardly could find the bike trail. We just moved on and tried to follow the instinct. Yeah, our instincts were absolutely good enough to lead the way at that time. lol.

We found another old bridge. I thought, that was the end of our journey and I was wrongly thinking that Hussin would say, 'just turn around and go home' but he was absolutely motivated to continue the journey more more more further, hahaha. I was motivated too and willing to lead the way uphill. I tried to remember the trail that I used before. It was not that hard. We stopped for a while and had our munch which were basically consisted of bananas, sandwich, and onion pie. Then, we continued the journey. On our way to the main exit of the park, there were dogs running towards us and trying to bite me. This situation really drove me crazy. I was not afraid of dogs, but when it came to me all of sudden, barking in front of me and trying to bite me, I had no chance to run but shouted out loud to it. Luckily, these two dogs' owner came to us. Fuhhhh...

We successfully reached one of the checkpoints that was just basically a main entrance of the wood that we had not been through before. But this time, we trailed it the other way round because we used another entrance to pass it through (from Meanwood Trail Valley). Now, we continued our journey to a main route of a farm that neither both of us had been there before. By the way, I think we now had already covered approximately 10km. We passed through alongside of a Golf Club Course that we knew nothing about it. I am not sure what was the name of the place. Without any hesitation, we again continued the journey. We were heading to a 'baa baa white sheep' farm and took few pictures over there. We also amazingly found a parody of Stonehenge which could be said, Stonehenge of Leeds, Keriam version  of it. Now, we were crossing a massive area of farms. The route was very bumpy. After 7 minutes crossing, we faced another obstacle. We could not find a way out to the main road. We were still inside the farm and partially blocked by continuos barbed-wire fence. We asked people who were on the other side of the fence, at least to show us where to find the way out. However we still could not find the way but to cross the barbed wire fence illegally. We succeeded. Now, we entered an area which was basically a water reservoir, yeah Eccup Reservoir. It was absolutely massive. I had no idea how big and far the reservoir was covering. We cycled 1 1/2KM around the reservoir area until we reached the opposite entrance of it.

Now, we headed to another side of the reservoir and this time, a panic situation had driven me crazy. Both of my tyres were punctured. Ohhhh man....It was not just tyres, but my tubes that were badly affected by sharp-needeled-type of thorn. We had nothing much to do that time but to stop aside the road. I checked one of my tubes (front wheel), yeah it was affected. The worst part of this situation was I did not bring any repair kits at all. I just brought the hand-pump. A massive respect and salute to both of us, hahah, we had to improvise things, by using helmet stickers to cover the tiny hole on the tube. It was absolutely unbelievable and fantastic !!!! With 8 miles to go, we had to be extra careful now. A lesson was learned today. Personally, it was absolutely an unforgettable adventure to have for both of us, really.

We had to use the main road to go back home. Hussin used his GPS apps to lead the way. In adaptation of Harold and Kumar's movie - the White Castle, we were now very motivated to give ourselves a reward due to what had happened today. The reward was just to have a proper dinner at Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) located  somewhere in Meanwood. Yeah, we reached the checkpoint and enjoy our meal. It was really rewarding. We shared stories together by looking through videos and pictures that had been taken along the journey. We laughed and enjoyed our moment. Hussin and I were really proud of ourselves for what we had been done and through today.

I had nothing to do last weekend. So, I woke up early and started to ride my bike heading to Meanwood Valley. I had been this area before, with one of my course mates, Josh. But now, I tried to ride alone. I was not so sure whether I could still remember the routes that had been used before or not. But yeah...I did it...I managed to find it on my own. I had nothing much to do actually. I just wanted to get closed to the nature spiritually. I took pictures and videos of the natural view of the forest itself which I hardly to get it during my first time entering this area. So yeah..i think that's all for now..see you later..cheers
